About Us
Basset Buddies Rescue (BBR) is an all-volunteer rescue that is open to everyone who loves dogs and wishes to help bassets and basset mixes live a healthy and happy life. It’s easy to be basset buddy and participate in rescuing and re-homing these lovable hounds… the only requirement is that you love basset hounds! Complete our Contact Us form and become a valued partner in our misson of basset rescue.
There is no formal membership process or member fee…everyone is welcome and you are a BBR buddy and a part of the BBR family regardless of how actively you particpate. It doesn’t matter how often you volunteer, donate, receive our newsletter (see home page ofr sign-up) or just keep an eye on our website, you are a part of our rescue community.
BBR covers the tri-state service area of Northern Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin and places its rescued hounds in foster and adoptive homes throughout that area.

If you are outside of that area, please check with the other rescue groups listed on our Where the Bassets Are page or, you may use our Contact Us form and request the name of a rescue in your area.
