Fostered In Wisconsin
Daily Routine: I wake up between 5:30 and 6 to go for a walk, then eat breakfast. Foster mom is home most days so I spend lots of time playing with my foster sister, napping, or chewing on things. I get crated about 4 hours during the day. Supper is around 5 and another walk around 8. I go to sleep around 10 to get my beauty sleep before it starts all over again.
What I love to do: I love chewing on things- bones, wooden objects, human socks, whatever is within my reach! I also love walks, playing with foster sister, and I'm a basset so obviously I love sleep.
Personal goals: I've been told to stop counter surfing which is weird because that's where the delicious things are kept. I guess I need to learn that my crate is a safe place and understand my family will come back and not to worry, but that is hard too. I know how to sit and lay down, but don't jump on people when I am excited to see them is another story. But I do potty outside which I hear is a pretty popular request among humans.
Favorite thing to do with my best friend: That's easy, I wrestle with foster sister! I like to make sure I win. Doing the Basset 500 around the house at least once daily is a must. I'm learning to stay away from the elder Basset since she doesn't like to play.
Kind of family I want: I need someone who will take long walks to wear me out or another playful dog. Cats are ok if they are used to dogs, but I can be overwhelming for cats that are elderly or not dog savy. I'm good with kids but get excited and jump, which isn't always the best for tiny kids.
Biggest fears: I get frightened at first by big dogs. Or the vacuum cleaner. So loud yet sneaky.
Ideal weekend plans: I'm just a typical puppy that wants to play! Let's wrestle, and take walks, and eat (all the food), and chew on things! And take snugly naps.
