Hi, I am a basset mix named Chip! I was in dire straights in a Texas shelter with an injured leg before I came to BBR. My Wisconsin doctor believes I was hit by a car due to my extensive hip injuries, but he was also able to repair my hip in surgery. I have had my rest, stretching exercises, and laser therapy so I am doing quite well now. In fact, now that I feel good and can run and play,
I really need another buddy to run around with. I have a new lease on life and foster mom says I am like a 6 month old pup! But along with that I do need training. I potty outside during the day but she crates me at night due to accidents. I could use a bit of work on manners and have tried to chew things that aren't my toys. This is why an active buddy and probably a fenced yard would go a long way in getting my sass out! I have been super friendly and like dogs and people, but don't always understand when dogs get tired of playing. My foster home has senior dogs so sometimes I make them crabby. My doctor also believes I may have been abused in the past because I don't like having my collar grabbed at and I can get nippy. For that reason she would not like to see me in a home where young children live who may not understand.
My foster mom says I am so sweet and loving, and the right home will be really lucky to have me so I hope I get to meet them soon! If you are the people for me, please fill out the adoption application under the ADOPTION heading above! A volunteer will reach out with more information.
