Fostered In Wisconsin
Daily Routine: Hi, I'm Maggie and my foster mom says I am just the sweetest! Part of my daily routine is taking medication. I am a really good dog but I do have occasional accidents because of something called "incontinence". The meds help with this. As long as I get 1/2 a pill twice a day I don't have any potty accidents! They cost about 30 bucks every two months so they aren't very expensive. I am crated when no one is home as added precaution and I do well in my crate.
What I love to do: I really enjoy walks with the other basset in my home. I'd really like to keep up but its hard. So I let my foster mom know when I am done. Although sometimes I do great and walk faster than mom can keep up.
Personal goals: I enjoy a good bark but apparently that is something others do not always appreciate. I mean cats, dogs, people walking by, loud cars, motorcycles, you name it, I think it deserves to be acknowledged. But I am working on listening when told to stop (again, I don't see the problem, I've got this gorgeous voice, I should use it).
Favorite thing to do with my best friend: As an older dog I really love my people time and would probably be most happy to be the one and only pup, getting all of the attention. I have been living with other cats and dogs, but I get frustrated when I need space and young dogs are overwhelming me.
Kind of family I want: I want a family with time to hang out with me and take me for walks, and realize I may be a little slower in life but I have a lot of living to do yet. I most love people or older, gentle dogs like me. I could do without the cats but we could probably learn to live together. I have learned to tolerate the ones in my foster home. Separation anxiety can cause me to have more accidents so I'd really just like someone to be home a lot.
Biggest fears: I was afraid of the resident cats in my foster home, those are some sneaky critters. But we are learning to co-exist.
Ideal weekend plans: I enjoy time with the human kids in my foster home. I enjoy being with my family. I still love toys and would play tug of war, I get excited for meals and walks and snuggle time.
