Age: 12.5 years with the spunk of a
boy half my age
Weight: 35 little pounds
Fostered In Wisconsin
Daily Routine: I am doing very well in my foster home. Although foster mom says I may be a bit hard of hearing since I look the other way when she calls me. I like to think my hearing is just SELECTIVE. When foster mom goes to work, she leaves me behind a gate in the spare room. I can see the other dogs, but have my own space. I listen extremely well and go right to a dog bed when the gate is closed. The treat involved is the reason I choose good listening at this time.
What I love to do: I love to snuggle in blankets! Especially when sleeping next to foster mom at night. I like to walk and we go for about 30 minutes, but I do wear a harness because I can pull some.
Personal goals: I need to slow down on the kibble scarfing so a slow feeder bowl is best for me. I also get cranky at night and generally prefer my space which I will indicate with some soft rumbling. And when I sit on moms lap I don't want to share it and be squashed.
Favorite thing to do with my best friend: I'm living with a basset, shepard and cat and we are all friends. Ok, the basset hasn't realized we are friends but I am cuddling up along side him an wearing him down. But my other dog buddy lets me follow him around and the cat lets me chase him.
Kind of family I want: I am looking for a family without kids as they are stressing me out in my older years. I like people and cats and dogs, as long as they respect my space when I need it. But I am a great little guy in the appropriate environment. Oh, I do like some water mixed in my food so someone willing to do that for me would be great. And I'm not too picky about having lots of dog beds in the house because I prefer the furniture anyhow.
Biggest fears: I don't like to be scolded and will get stressed out and lick my paws if I'm scared. Speaking of paws, I do let my foster mom cut my nails which is pretty great of me because lots of dogs don't like that.
Ideal weekend plans: I prefer a laid back weekend, especially with this cold weather! I am also a great passenger so if we go for a car ride, that's no problem. And not to toot my own horn, but I'm an excellent kisser. I'm also a great lap dog. I do like tug of war but can get worked up so that's when it is time to stop.
